\'08 CHILLI MODELS AND VIDEO OF BESCHEN AND GORKIN BOOSTING AND TUBING ON THE NORTH SHORE Catalyst, being affiliated with Chilli Surfboards' USA distributer, Hot Batch Distribution, has direct access to all things Chilli--even Chilli tees, found no where else in these fine United States.
James 'Chilli' Cheal has added several models to his '08 quiver, including the A2 Curve, which is the template usually being ridden when you're watching 'CT guys going looney at Snappers.
The CN Curve draws from Chilli's original curve and outline, but with the every day surfer in mind. Still very much a high performance surfboard, but a bit more forgiving for non-WCT mortals and less-than-epic conditions.
The Stepdown outline is based on the CN Curve, but mashed down on inch or two, making it a performance small-wave shortboard that's a bit wider, shorter, and maybe a hair thicker than your standard shortboard. It also features a fuller rail and lower entry rocker allowing for better paddle-ability and speed generation in junk surf.
C-Quad: Ride it an inch or two shorter than your standard shortboard, as a bit of width is added to accomodate the fin set-up. It's basically a CN Curve modified into a four-fin: a true high-performance quad shortboard.
Chilli Fish: Takes the aspects of your shortboard and fish that you like and combines them into one board. Ride about four inches shorter than your shortboard, but not as small as your Round Nose Fish. The rocker template is not flat like a typical fish, allowing the Chilli Fish to be extremely responsive, snappy, and accomodates tight turns in the pocket. The fuller rails and wider outline allow for easy speed generation in junk. Riding it shorter makes up for the extra foam under your feet, while also allowing you to fit your turns in the smaller pockets of junk.
