Who - The Rocket Redux is ideal for a variety of skill level. Those newer to surfing will be able to ride a longer in length Rocket Redux to compensate for their budding fundamentals. Where intermediate to advanced surfers will enjoy riding this model at a shorter length than their “traditional shortboards” as to maximize the board’s performance.
When - This model was ideally made with average conditions in mind. Anything from thigh to chest high is the norm, however, the Rocket Redux can be ridden in larger surf. The model’s larger surf abilities were made evident in …Lost’s video “5’5 Redux” where the Rocket held the stage for most of the film.
What - Expect all of your favorite attributes from the original Rocket to be found in the Rocket Redux; low flat and fast entry rocker, an aggressive flip in the tail and rail rocker, a wide outline and tail, and the iconic hooked diamond “Rocket” tail. The improvements come in as refined rail curves and cleaned up rail lines to add extra horsepower to this Rocket. Expect this combination to paddle well, get one into waves early, drive down the line with power and speed, while still providing hold and control when laying it on rail. It is at home flicking the tail or driving off the rear foot for powerful rail carves.
