Who - The RNF Retro can be ridden by surfers from all ranges of experience. With the quad set-up, beginners will find this board as a great tool to fine tune the basic skills due to the stability and excellent paddle power that the Retro has. Intermediate and Advanced surfers will find the Round Nose Fish Retro to be a refreshing addition to their quiver. The classic fish outline plus Lost's incorporation of multiple features from the RNF Redux allows this board to be ridden in a cruisey or aggressive style.
When - The RNF Retro can be ridden in just about anything. But this model really favors clean, slopey surf (ranging from knee high to overhead). That is where the characteristics of this board really shine. The right surfer can also take this board in steep surf and reap the benefits of the Retros sheer speed.
What - The RNF Retro is about as classic as it gets. Reminding surfers that surfing is not all about crazy aerials. The Retro wants to go fast and be engaged in the wave face. The wide, rounded nose and volume forward outline of the Retro will have you "two-stroking" into just about every wave you look at. In steeper surf, the slight flip in the nose will keep you from pearling as well. The middle of the board has a rather straight rail line which helps to achieve and maintain speed without much assistance from the rider. Running down to the tail, the first important feature was actually borrowed from the snowboarding world. A side cut is used to allow the board to turn much tighter and grip the face better so you don't have to worry about the tail sliding out when using a twin setup. The tail is the most classic fish tail that Lost has released to date. Coming in at 10 inches wide and 4 inches deep, this is about as retro as it gets. With either quad or twin fin setups as your options, you can get really creative with the RNF Retro. This board is all about fun.
