Who - Intermediate to advanced skill surfers will be able to enjoy the benefits of this surfboard and use it to progress their surfing level.

When - The Sub Driver is ideal in quite a bit of conditions. It works well in everything except knee high grovel type waves and double over head surf where you would need a step-up. This board is very capable to handle a variety of conditions as well, including glassy, choppy, and windy.

What - The Sub Driver is Lost’s attempt(a successful one might we add) to create a high performance surfboard that can be used when the conditions and wave height go on the smaller side. Essentially making this an all-around type of board. If you are an intermediate and above surfer with a high-performance minded attitude and you only wanted one board to get you through the year, this would be it. Staring at the nose, it has a pretty standard issue shortboard nose with a healthy amount of nose rocker. This is going to allow you to make any drop you take and put this board at 12 O’clock on the serious sections. Moving down to the middle of the board, this is where we start to see what makes the Sub Driver work in the smaller stuff. We see the width go up when compared to the Driver or Pocket Rocket. This is going to help with paddle power as well as the board’s ability to plane through the weak/flat sections of a wave. Moving down to the tail, we see a moderately wide rounded squash tail and a medium tail rocker. The wide tail block is going to generate more down the line speed and have good release above the lip, while the rounded portion of the tail(as well as the double concave) will make the rail to rail transitions nice and smooth.
