Who - Beginners whom have the fundamental “pop-up” down to advanced surfers will love this board. Beginners/intermediates will size the board longer in length to provide the needed stability and forgiveness where higher end intermediate/advanced surfers will drop the board’s length a bit to keep this model nimble and maneuverable.

When - Ride the Puddle Fish when the conditions are lackluster and you need a board to paddle well, create speed, and have tons of drive. Ideal range is the poor to average conditions varying from about knee to rib high. Surfers able to ride the Puddle Fish at a shorter length will be able to go into slightly larger waves when conditions aren’t too punchy or hollow.

What - The Puddle Fish is here to go fast and make the most out of minimal conditions. Much like other models in the Puddle Jumper family, the Puddle Fish has a forward wide point that’s positioned under the chest/front foot area of the deck and a relaxed overall rocker that provides exceptional paddle power, easy wave catching abilities, and immediate speed. The tail block has been widened when compared to the PJ Squash that creates a more parallel rail line that provides more drive when turning. The parallel rail line equates to more of the rail submerging into the wave face when turning and the more rail that is engaged creates more push or drive in the direction you are turning.  When you add the single to double concave it allows a wider nose and wide-tail board to still feel nimble and responsive by encouraging the board to transition from rail to rail and help one maneuver it. The final bit is the “inverted swallow” tail which is how the board can have the wide tail block for planing and glide but the unique swallow shape still provides bite and hold when surfing at speed and or when a steeper section is presented.
