What size Revo Max should I get?
It depends which board you want it to be. As a step-up twin, ride your regular shortboard volume or a touch more: a surfer on a 30-liter shortboard would look at the 6’0 (18 7/8” x 2 9/16”, 31.3 L) or 6’3 (35.2 L). As a performance mid-length, go 6–12 inches longer than your shortboard with more volume: the 6’6 (40.8 L), 6’9 (46.9 L) and 7’0 (53.5 L). Firewire charts it for all skill levels.
What fins does the Revo Max use?
It is set up as a twin (Futures). Tomo designed the Tomo Max Keel fin set specifically for it after riding it with Kelly’s Endorfins Twin + 2 and finding the narrow-based twin a little pivoty for the long rail line. The Max Keel is a performance keel – more surface area than any twin fin, less than any keel – with just enough upright leading and trailing edge to stay responsive, giving the trim of a keel with the response of a twin. It comes in medium and large for Futures. The Endorfins Twin + 2 (Futures single-tab or FCS II dual-tab) is the looser, more pivoty alternative Tomo started with.
What waves is the Revo Max for?
Firewire says it works well in 2 to 8 ft surf, especially lined-up point breaks and well-shaped beach breaks, and Tomo says it offers effortless speed and rail-to-rail transitions in conditions from under waist high to triple overhead. The Vee Quad Concave is what gives it that range – ease of transition plus uncommon control on rail at speed.
How is the Revo Max different from the Revo?
Same Tomo Vee Quad Concave and chop-tail Modern Planing Hull, but the Revo was a 5’1–6’2 five-fin everyday shortboard, while the Revo Max is a 6’0–7’0 twin that doubles as a step-up and a performance mid-length. Think of the Revo Max as the Revo stretched for bigger waves and longer lines.

What construction does the Revo Max come in?
Firewire builds the Revo Max in I-Bolic with Volcanic lamination – an I-beam core with flex controlled at the rails by high-density foam, laminated with basalt fiber for Firewire’s most durable finish with elevated response. Can I custom order a Revo Max?
Firewire builds the Revo Max in set stock sizes rather than true one-off customs, so there is no custom board builder for it.
