Hypto Krypto Twin Pin Q&A
What size Hypto Krypto Twin Pin should I get?
Ride it about 1" longer than your Hypto Krypto. If you are coming from a shortboard, Haydenshapes’ Hypto Krypto guide applies: experienced surfers go 1" to 2" shorter than their everyday shortboard, newer surfers 2" bigger, and anyone stepping down from a longboard or mini mal starts at 6’2 and up. For example, a 5’11 shortboard rider looks at the 5’10 (20 3/16" x 2 9/16", 33.14 L) or the 5’11 (20 5/16" x 2 5/8", 34.72 L). Stock sizes run from 5’4 (19 9/16" x 2 3/8", 26.85 L) to 7’0 (21 5/8" x 3 1/16", 51.13 L). Our shop staff can help you pick a size.
What fins does the Hypto Krypto Twin Pin use?
It is a 2+1: two twin-fin boxes with a small trailer box behind, in Futures or FCS II. A twin + 1 set is the natural choice, with the trailer adding hold through the pin tail: on Futures, the T1 Twin + 1; on FCS II, the MR Twin + 1. Pull the trailer for a looser, pure-twin feel in small waves.
How is the Twin Pin different from the Hypto Krypto?
It is a new twist on the Hypto Krypto: the same balance of tradition and modern performance, suited to the elite and the everyday surfer, but set up as a 2+1 twin with a pin tail for a drawn-out, flowing feel. In the bigger sizes it also runs a narrower outline than the Hypto Krypto, 21 5/8" wide at 7’0 versus 23".
What waves is the Hypto Krypto Twin Pin for?
All conditions, from small 1 to 3 ft beach breaks up to barrels of around 8 ft. As an everyday model it is designed to catch more waves in a range of conditions, generating speed easily down the line and holding up when the conditions present themselves, at beach breaks, reefs and points.
Who is the Hypto Krypto Twin Pin for?
All skill levels, from the everyday surfer to elite riders, and especially Hypto Krypto fans who want the speed and glide of a twin with the hold of a pin tail.
What construction does the Hypto Krypto Twin Pin come in?
Haydenshapes builds the Hypto Krypto Twin Pin in FutureFlex, its patented construction with a parabolic carbon-fibre frame around an EPS core and epoxy glassing, which is light, strong and lively underfoot, and in traditional PU (poly). Each in-stock board on this page lists its construction and fin boxes.
