Untitled Q&A
What size Untitled should I get?
The Untitled is a small-wave performance shortboard, so ride it at your regular shortboard volume or a touch more, and go a little shorter. Comparing stock dims, it runs about 3" to 4" shorter than a standard performance shortboard of the same volume. For example, if you ride a 5’11 shortboard at about 28.5 L, look at the 5’8 (19 1/2" x 2 3/8", 28.48 L) or the 5’9 (19 3/4" x 2 7/16", 29.94 L). Stock sizes run from 5’6 (19" x 2 1/4", 25.66 L) to 6’3 (20 5/8" x 2 3/4", 38.15 L). Our shop staff can help you pick a size.
What fins does the Untitled use?
It is a thruster, with Futures or FCS II boxes. Hayden Cox designed his own fins for exactly these boards. On FCS II, the FCS II Haydenshapes HS set (Tri, or the Tri-Quad set for 5-fin boards) is an all-round template with a longer base for exceptional speed when driving off the bottom, made for the Hypto Krypto and other higher-volume, lower-rocker models. On Futures, Haydenshapes recommends its HS1 (Large) and HS2 (Medium) Generation Series fins.
What is the Untitled?
Fast, fierce and responsive. Haydenshapes calls the Untitled a lively board that defines speed, versatility and fun: a winged swallow tail shortboard with a slightly fuller plan shape and a deep single concave to vee that gets you up to top speed in the mushiest of conditions. The current version, the Untitled V2, is back fresh-faced and tweaked to team spec.
What waves is the Untitled for?
It is built for flatter, less powerful waves, where it paddles well and makes speed easily, yet it still has plenty of controlled response in a more curved section of the wave. Waist- to head-high faces at beach breaks, reefs and points are its sweet spot, and it works in all conditions.
Who is the Untitled for?
Progressive surfers looking to improve their surfing, and experienced surfers, right up to pros, who want a small-wave performance shortboard.
What construction does the Untitled come in?
Haydenshapes builds the Untitled in FutureFlex, its patented construction with a parabolic carbon-fibre frame around an EPS core and epoxy glassing, which is light, strong and lively underfoot, and in traditional PU (poly). Each in-stock board on this page lists its construction and fin boxes.
