Stingfish Q&A
What size Stingfish should I get?
The Stingfish is a longer hybrid, so ride it well above your shortboard length. We have stocked it from 6’2 to 8’0, most often between 7’0 and 7’6 at around 21 1/2" to 22 1/2" wide, and most shortboard riders land in that 7’0 to 7’6 range, going longer for more paddle power or if you are coming down from a longboard. What fins does the Stingfish use?
FCS II boxes; the boards we stock come as a thruster or a 5-fin depending on the build, and each board’s listing shows which. A balanced, all-round thruster set suits it, sized up for the extra board length: the FCS II Performer (Medium, Large), or on Futures the F6 / F8 Legacy. FCS sizes its fins by weight: Small 120–155 lbs, Medium 145–175 lbs, Large 165–200 lbs. Futures’ Legacy series runs F4 (Small), F6 (Medium) and F8 (Large).
