Ultra Glide Q&A
What size Ultra Glide should I get?
Quiet Flight’s chart runs 9’0 (23" x 3", 73.21 L), 9’2 (23" x 3", 74.56 L), 9’4 (23 1/2" x 3", 77.57 L) and 9’6 (23 1/2" x 3", 78.96 L), and we stock it most often at 9’6. Lighter surfers and anyone who wants a slightly easier board to carry and turn look at the 9’0 to 9’2; bigger surfers and beginners get the most glide and easiest wave catching from the 9’4 to 9’6. Our shop staff can help you pick a size.
What fins does the Ultra Glide use?
Most Ultra Glides we stock are single fins with a single-fin box, and some are built as a 2+1 with FCS II side boxes; each board’s listing shows which. For a classic cruiser like this, a wide-based 9" to 9.5" longboard single fin gives the best trim and noseriding feel, and if you have side boxes you can add small side bites for extra hold. Our staff can match a fin from FCS or Futures to your board.
