Description
Who - Originally designed by Matt "Mayhem" Biolos for young teen phenom Kolohe Andino. Kolohe challenged Biolos to create a highly specific small wave board (which he jokingly wanted to name "The Trashcan Lid" because you didn't have to go dumpster diving to get one). Since its breakout success under Andino's feet, it has remained a custom-order mainstay for everyday surfers looking for a playful, forgiving performance board.
When - You should surf this board when the waves are small, mushy, or lacking power. It is specifically built as a small-wave weapon designed so you don't have to "work" for your speed. With its mellow rocker and wide, stable outline, it makes paddling, early wave entry, and quick planing incredibly easy, making it the perfect board for maximizing fun in sub-par to average, everyday conditions.
What - A relaxed-rocker, conservatively outlined, higher-volumed spin on the modern performance shortboard. Biolos started with an older SD2 model, squashed the dimensions down (making it their stubbiest shortboard at the time), lowered the entry rocker, and shallowed the central concave. This straightened the rail line for exceptional forward drive and made it easier to lay its wide platform over on a rail. A spiral-vee in the tail ensures that while it is wide and thick, it still carves and turns like a true performance board.
